Thanks for the links, I appreciate the information and definitely found it helpful. Do you have any updated information on this community? The latest post was from 2011.

I was also curious, I found on the website certain "Villages" are focused on Active Adults. I am under 30 but I am interested in one of the "Villages" targeted towards Active Adults. Is this truly an Active Adult village or is there some diversity in age?

Has anyone had problems with crime in the community?

Future development plans for surrounding area?

I saw DR Horton also owns a piece of property at the corner of Amos Smith and Notebook Trail, have any future plans been released for this area?

Looking at the vineyards for retirement. We have a boat that we would bring with us. Any insights on the community would be appreciated.

I know they are about to dredge and install their docks. They also have some plans for opening up another big section for homebuilding, things are finally starting to pick up again out there.

This isn't the best place to boat in the area. It can be very shallow in that part of the river an in times of drought you might not be able to make it out. There are some wide swaths there where the water is only 2-3 ft deep. I generally don't care for this part of the Catawba River as there is a lot of industrial stuff on it, some redneck camps, gypsy boat landings, etc. It's also fairly close to the 4th runway at the airport which doesn't help.

I recommend finding some place else if you like to boat.

I can't say I disagree.

I have a friend who purchased a home in this development about a year ago. It's a beautiful house and seems well constructed, all the lots/backyards are small however. I live in Uptown and it is only about a 15-20 minute drive down 74 to get there depending on time of day. I'd recommend checking it out!
