Hello..

Trying very hard to find a interior designer who charges reasonable fee - I have been unsuccessful.
Can anyone help? I tried Angies list but $$$/hr is pretty high - $75/125 per hour.

Any thoughts?

I'm going to throw this idea out there.....someone once told me that you might can call CPCC or Charlotte School of the Arts and ask if the Interior Design Program has any students that could recommend that might be willing to work on the side.

I have a friend who has just started up Godfrey Custom Interiors. I don't know what he charges but worth checking out.

I used to have a similar attitude towards "consultants" until I became one. They (we) are giving you the benefit of years of experience and training. That's what they're (we're) selling. Should a sale of product come from that, so be it. But that's not always the case.

I've worked with numerous designers, and can tell you the most important thing for them to do is to be able to see your vision, when you're unable to explain what it is. If I used a designer, they'd really have to work at this, because while I can tell you what I don't like, someone will need to help me get where I can't explain I want to be.

Many I've known do things their way, and can't see that not everyone wants what they want. Gotta find the right fit for you.
