One might think this question could be easily answered via a couple minutes on Google, but...

What's the general geography of the Charlotte area? Flat? Big rolling hills? Low rolling hills? Mountain foothills?

Also, how's the pricing on rural property within roughly 30-40 minutes of the city core?

TIA...

CaNC

I live to the SE of Charlotte. I find that the area for the most part has a few small hills, but nothing major. It is a lot of open flat farm land. Especially as you go away from Charlotte. I know the state of NC website used to have some of the maps you are looking for, but I cannot find it there.

I live about that distance from Uptown in Union County. The homes in this area go from anywhere around $150,000-over$300,000. It really depends on the type of home you are looking for. I hope some of this helps you out!

The more south and east you go, the more flat. The more north and west, the more hilly. The city of Charlotte is a bit in between. It's a very nice, beatiful area. As far as land you're looking for, try Lincoln County, NC or Lancaster County, SC. They're both in the metro, but still have rual land that's affordable. Good luck with your search!!!!!
