Why would anyone move to this area without looking into all of the details?
I would never have considered living in this area for the main reason you described.
If you think it's going to get better - keep puffing on the city-data bong.
Advice, buy a few guns and learn how to protect your family.
LOL, this attitude is exactly why I moved away from exit 28.
My comment wasn't meant to sound upidy or anything like that. I am just aware that there has been crime issues around exit #18 towards the mall and surrounding areas over the last few years. Hopefully, that will improve and you won't experience it if you live in that area.
hasn't the crime in that area slowly crept north anyway? I know there have been rounds of break ins in several of the Huntersville neighborhoods and two attempted robberies in the parking lot of Target in Huntersville this week.
I always say to visit an area on a friday night and take a walk. If you find yourself wanting to run back to your car maybe you dont want to live there.
Geez, I used to hate even driving in that area. I can't imagine living t
Here. I guess some folks tolerance is a lot more thn mine. Good on you. But not for me.
I live across the street from the Northlake Mall, not on Sunset...however it seems like the riff-raff from Sunset pours into the area a lot. I am not ranting or complaining, just updating people on my thoughts and observations for people who are looking into the area in the future!

I also lived in this area and observed this. For the most part, Northlake is an awesome little Oasis away from the city. My only gripe about it was the lack of heart. There isn't really a very good bar scene or anything. The whole place seems to die at night. It's not an unsafe place at night in my mind, but the areas just south (sunset) definitely are.
