I remember that storm too. My lot has dozens of 60-70 year old willow oaks which still had the leaves on them when that storm hit. It caused the branches to break off. It sounded like warfare out there with all the cracking and ice hitting the ground. Did quite a number on those trees. It took a number of years for them to grow back into shape.

I drove from western Lincoln County to Hooterville this morning and it was light rain to a mist.

Far as Fall this is best Autumn leaf colors I ever remember. Usually by this time in November most of it either on ground or frost has turn the leaves brown
There is still quite a bit of red and golds. The red leaves on the Bradford Pears are spectacular.

I was working at Mosaic Village last night & all that was coming down was rain. It was dang cold though. A couple students told me that there was frost on the windows of their cars.

We had quilts over the entrance to the living room, and with the gas fireplace, we were able to keep the living room at a "balmy" 60 degrees. We had gas water heater, so we had hot water. As far as the fridge went, we just loaded everything in coolers and set them outside. Everything stayed frozen!

One night, I cooked dinner on the grill outside. The fire from the grill was the only light I could see on the entire street. We had a battery operated tv, but one night after the batteries had died, my wife and I hooked to the cigarette lighter in the car and watched "24".

I remember one evening, we went out to eat, and the people at the table next to us were complaining that they were inconvenienced that since the storm, their cable was not working! ARE YOU KIDDING!!!!!!!!! LOL!!!!!!
We thought later how much better it would have been if we HAD been home as we could have salvaged all the food from the freezer! It would have been cold enough to have stored it outside! And we would have eaten very well while without electricity (we use the grill at such times, too).

We have a battery operated tv, as well, and have resorted to the car as a "theatre" at times, too! LOLOLOL

My oh my. Hope we don't have to deal with something like this again - EVER!!!
