Indeed. The wedding ring was not yours to take home. Please return it to the store where it was found or take it to the police.

Any time anything is lost a thing or person, you return to the point the last place you seen it.

I remember around this time last year, I went into a restaurant and I thought I put my commitment ring in my pocket before I ate a sandwich as I dont like mustard and mayo on it and it makes it loose.

Later that evening before bed I realize I didnt have it. That ring was extra special as I picked out in San Fransisco and gave vows on beach of outer banks. I was kicking myself in butt for months for not going back to that restaurant asking or even called them.

For Valentines we got new commitment rings and it fits better a month later I found original ring in bottom of my coin jar lol.

Bottom line is, return the ring to closest establishment it was found, it just good karma and you dont have a token of a strangers memory in your home.

The ring doesn't belong to the store either. I think the OP really wants to make sure the ring gets back to the original owner. If you just take it back to the store, the person at the store probably doesn't have the same convictions and would pocket the ring for themselves.

Giving the store your info is good, but you may want to call back and make sure someone didn't come by looking for a ring.

Also, call the police and ask them, not sure if you have any legal requirements.

I disagree. The wedding band was found on the store's property and was removed from it. While the store owner may or may not follow through, IMO, it's their responsibility to handle lost items on their property.

I was taught that you don't remove items found on someone else's property.
