Saw an article about this place opening in Charleston next summer which mentions they also are planning a store in Charlotte, either in Myers Park or South Park.

It has "specialty foods, cooking school, a wine department and a restaurant that focuses on local products with a southern twist."

Looks like the only one right now is in Chapel Hill, and it got good reviews, sounds expensive though.

Interesting quote re: Publix/Harris Teeter in the article too:
Quote:
Charlotte was going to be the first new store, Hamner said, but the company has had a hard time finding a suitable spot. He doesn’t want a two-level store and he wants parking that doesn’t include a parking deck. Sites like that are difficult to find here, he said.

“Publix and Harris Teeter are busy buying everything in sight.”

They host some really great classes & talks in Chapel Hill. I'll be glad when they're here!

I LOVE this place! We went there when we were looking around the Raleigh/Chapel Hill area. Its a huge store - we did not even get to see it all. We even ordered gift baskets from there when we got home for our RE Agents, to thank them for all the time spent showing us around. When we decided to concentrate our home search in Charlotte, I was alittle disappointed that we would not be able to shop at Southern Season - THIS makes me happy!!!
