I am relocating from Dallas, Tx (lived in Texas all my life) and I am relocating with wife and 3 children. I am looking to live within a 30 mile radius of Charlotte. I am already employed and will be transferring so looking for an area with good schools, safe neighborhoods preferably in a suburb area. I believe I would like to live closer to S.Carolina instead of north of Charlotte. I will be buying a house and looking for housing in the 110 to 175K range. Any suggestions and help are greatly appreciated!!

Glad to know you have a job lined up for this area, as employment is rather sketchy at best in this neck of the woods. Fort Milll area would probably be safe-bet for you or the Steele Creek area. Best of Luck to you.

Ballantyne area is the best for families with kids. Great schools and extremely safe community.

Compare crime and schools to rest of the area. Especially zip code 28277

I believe there are houses in that price range in Waxhaw. I loved living there. Good schools, great community.

Agree with the south Charlotte area recommendation. There are many good neighborhood choices that meet your budget as well. Welcome to Charlotte!

Agree with the Ballantyne rec or maybe between Ballantyne and Fort Mill on that budget.
