Iam planning to buy home in Hollister. As i need to go to uptown everyday for the job,iam little worried about the commute.

Is it worth living in that comunity with everyday atleast 1 hour commute.

Other than the commute ,i like the schools, amneties etc..

is there anyone who travel to uptown from this community to near by communities?

Can somebody help me inthis regard?

Really got stuck to decide on this.

Is it possible for you to commute outside of normal commuting hours?

Many people in the area commute to uptown daily. It's 40 minutes each way with no traffic, doing the speed limit. If you're not inclined to drive the whole way, you can park at the Promenade shopping center on Providence for the express bus (61X) or the Arboretum shopping center for the 'regular' bus (14). Neither will save you any time, as they both drive Providence Road in traffic.

I agree that the best way to do this is to leave around 6:30am, no later. I live in a nearby community that is a little further north than you and have to leave at 7:00 (due to childcare) and would much rather leave earlier. Your commute won't be too bad if you get out before the traffic. You may also consider avoiding Providence Rd. There are other routes if you take a look at the map. As far as weekends and after work, Wesley Chapel is a great little place with about all you need. My kids are signed up to play tee ball at the park there and there are plenty of other activities. Nearby Blakeney has much more and is not that far to drive. I'm not sure which school you're zoned for (elementary), but if you're zoned for Weddington Middle and High, you're good.

Hollister is zoned for Cuthbertson High... pretty sure it's just Weddington Elem only.

Leaving extra early is an option, but if you leave around 8:30a-9:00a (assuming you can get into the office after 9am), you can do it well under an hour on average - barring any traffic mishaps. You also have the option to consider going the "back way" up Independence - take 84 East and cut up through Indian Trail.
