My wife and I have decided we will be moving to the lake norman area in a couple of years. I am a retired Police Officer in NJ. I've heard there are many retired Officers from NY and NJ in the Lake Norman area. How about we form a club, take group trips, totally a social type atmosphere to make the transistion from this area to N. Carolina and have the comfort of being around those that were on the job for many years. If nothing else, maybe make new friends. Just putting this out there. Anyone interested???

The is a chapter of the FOP in Charlotte. There's also a 10-13 Club that meets at the FOP bldg. It's open to any retired mos that can provide a valid ID card from their PD. My husband is a member.

just found the website and it looks like it is in Charlotte. I was hoping for a club in the Lk Norman area so it wouldnt be necessary to drive to charlotte itself.

Yep, the FOP lodge is in Charlotte itself & the 10-13 Club mtgs are held there. There's plenty of people in the Mooresville/LKN area that attend so, maybe once you start meeting people there, you can travel together to the mtgs. It's a good place to network.
