We are thinking of moving into providence downs and wanted to find out as much as we could about the neighborhood. We have three boys (10, 7, and 4) and want a good yard but also a social neighborhood where kids and parents interact to make the transition as easy as possible on the kids. Is the neighborhood social, bunco, etc.? are there are lot of elementary school kids in the neighborhood? Do the kids play together outside? are there are a lot of stay at home moms?
Any information would be really helpful!
thanks so much!

Apologies as I don't spend nearly as much time here as in the past...

PD is an excellent neighborhood. All custom homes so many trees were left up. All good sized lots. Good amenities. Well kept. No sidewalks, but very wide roads. So with the exception of Man of War Dr (which is a cut through heavily used) you can't make much of a bad choice location wise in there. Marvin Ridge is a great school cluster academically and for sports. I can't comment specifically on the number of kids by age in there, but people move to that area for the schools - there will be tons of kids. The HOA will drive social events and you'll have plenty to do and make new friends. Check out the Union County Mommies web site for some other insights.

Do you have any other specific questions?

We live in PD and find it to be very social, ESP. For families with children. We moved here specifically because of the reputation of the Marvin schools. If you do move to PD, there is a community Web site that has info about activities going on. Also, when we first moved here, I organized a play group and have made several good friends through that and just from meeting other families at the pool.

Community has mix of working and stay at home moms. Kids do play outside although in the summer you are more likely to find pool activity. There is also a PD swim team.

Mikeykid's assessment about the physical appeal of the development is accurate.

Feel free to ask more questions.
