Anyone have any recommendations for spreading mulch? I need about 16 yards of it, and I'd like to have a truck and crew bring it to my house, spread it, clean up, and be gone!

I had someone do it a few years back, but it was pretty expensive and I'm looking to comparison shop this time.

Thanks!

Would you mind PMing me too? :-)

I only need about 1-2 yards total and I'm not quite ready for it but would love to have the info on hand.

If you can get access to a truck or trailer, then you can buy a yard of high quality hardwood mulch at the North Meck Recycling center for just a mere $10. They often fill your vehicle to overfilling which means that you get far more than 1 yd./trip. For the costs of what some of these places charge, you can buy a small trailer from the hardware store.

They also sell a yard of high quality compost for just $22 and again you will most likely end up with more than that. That much compost from HD or Lowes would cost a fortune and it's also got dirt and water in it.

I've been using them (I have my own trailer) this spring to mulch my yard which we have been putting down ourselves. It's great mulch and much higher quality than I've seen at the commercial places. (and I did look)

Understandable but unfortunately I own a VW beetle and a [old] BWM convertible. Not exactly great for hauling around mulch. No friends with pickups either

That old Bimmer would be great for hauling mulch, with the top down.
