Traffic in the morning up 77 N? (Charlotte, Statesville: moving to, best, location)

Good morning people of Charlotte.
I will be moving to your fabulous city next weekend and was curious about traffic congestion in the morning. My starting point is Westinghouse Blvd & South Tryon and my ending point is Starita Road. How bad is traffic at around 7 am? I will need to be at work ( on Starita) by 8 am. What time should I leave? I know without traffic it could be about a 20 minutes drive. Is going up 77 the best route/fastest? Or would it be better to take 485 to 85 N?

#485 is just about always better that #85 in regards to traffic. Going away from the rush hour flow will be an advantage since that is what you will be doing.

Well if OP takes 485 they'd need to take 85 too. I probably would suggest the 485/85 route over the 77 route though. But I think either way would rarely take longer than about 35 minutes.

I'm not exactly sure of the location of Steritaa. Is that near Derita?

According to google maps it's off of Statesville Rd./Ave., exit 39 off 85 just north of the intersection with 77.
