I was at the Visulite last night and a group of people were talking about the annual 4/20 reunion at Hippie Hill today at Freedom Park. Thought about riding by just to see what kind of turn out they are having. Anyone here ever go to one of those? Note: I am by no means a stoner, I feel it should be legalized.

I wish it would be legalized as well. I am not allowed to smoke it and drink the same night. My wife told me if I do that again, I won't be allowed to come into our bedroom and I'd have to sleep with my friend from high school that spends the night once a week so he and I can go out bar hopping. I don't wish to sleep with my friend. He isn't only ugly, but he snores too. Oh yea, I don't really like being next to dudes in bed. No offense intended to anyone. It's just me. But yea, it should be legalized. I am old enough to smoke responsibly. Last October when in Myrtle Beach, I wasn't. I made the mistake of indulging in both of the aforementioned and the bellhop ended rolling me back to my room on a luggage cart. I hope that I tipped him.

I hope this hasn't been TMI.

Lmao; one of the funniest stories ever. I can only hope when I do get married, that my wife is as cool as yours is. I have a cousin who lives in NYC that works for a unnamed tech-giant that smokes and drinks as you do, but if you saw him you'd think he was just a yuppie. I'd love to have that lifestyle, the company sends him to places like Amsterdam and I can only imagine how he is there.

But yeah some people can smoke and drink at the same time, while others can't; throughout my high-school years (graduated a few years back) I was a smoker, but now I'm more of a drinker yet at times I still would like to smoke, my job unfortunately takes random drug test and I can't afford to be fired for something so simple.

Okey dokey, back to the topic at hand, lol. I managed to drop by Hippie Hill today to talk to a few folks. This was not a bunch of whacked out stoners. There was no drum circle, although there were several people playing acoustic guitars. This is their 12th annual April 20th meeting. The name "Hippie Hill" in Freedom Park has been called that as far back as 1970 according to a few old timers I talked to. One of the photos I have here shows a laminated section of the Charlotte Observer from Aug 11, 1974, when 200,000 people attended the August Jam 2 day concert at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. I was only 13 when that happened but remember the ads all over Big Ways Radio. So, there ya go. Something different in boring ole Charlotte. Heck, maybe I will go again next year. I feel like I made a few new friends.

I really only drink once a week when my friend comes from across town. He stays at my house so he doesn't have to drive back home. I smoke about twice a year, at reunions and if I happen to get offered a tote. My neighbors think that I am more sophisticated than I actually am. Jokes on them.
P.S. I am a late bloomer. I never touched a joint the whole time I was commissioned in the army. Now, no worries. Yep, moderation is the key.

I agree moderation is the key. We have hundreds of natural GOD MADE plants that have been used for thousands of years as medicine.Trying to outlaw a plant is stupid.

Good thread. I'd say about 52% of us are in denial.
