My family is relocating to the LKN area soon. We previously lived there, leaving in 2005, and it has changed so much. We are looking for the best value/easiest resale neighborhood. We have two young boys (7 & 5) but they will be in private school through elementary so schools are not quite as much of a consideration. We're interested in a home that is fairly new and/or updated and has some community amenities. We're working with a realtor but would LOVE to hear from people that actually live in these neighborhoods. HELP!

Since schools aren't key factor, it will be hard for you to go wrong notwithstanding the issue of very low inventory. We live in the area by Northcross Target and can walk to get coffee, fro yo, sandwiches. Thats great, but the downside is that it's gotten very crowded here and the commute to uptown is painful. There really aren't bad neighborhoods here and assuming overall decent market conditions, resale shouldn't be an issue no matter where you buy. My faves 250,000 or so include Monteith Park, Cambridge Grove (this area is several connected neighborhoods), Birkdale, and Wynfield. These neighborhoods feed to the best schools which may be unimportant to you, but will be important for resale. Most of the newest construction homes have teeny lots (a pet peeve), while established areas have better lots.
