Quick moving storm may cause power outage

A chance of some strong thunderstorms. Storms may produce large hail and strong winds.

The expectation is this will hit during commute hours, be safe and charge cell phones, tablets or laptops.

Know someone out on the lake and they have a cell phone, call and tell them a storm is approaching they should head towards a docking area soon. If your living in Lake Norman area and have space in garage I would recommend parking in garage as this looks like it might be a hail event.

Is this that "durecho" they were talking about? The radar looks pretty scary right now. I just now saw 2 deer running through the lawn at Sharon Pres. Church on Sharon Rd. It's almost as if they were detecting something bads about to happen.

It's hitting Mt. Island Lake now. Almost pitch dark. Don't forget to charge tablets too if you don't have rabbit ears and need TV.

Be safe.

I use Weather Bug radar on my phone.

It shows traffic slow-downs too

It's a free App.

The best app for the iPad is Hi-Def Radar. You can enter actual addresses and tap them in your bookmarks. There's a lot of other stuff it does too and the graphics are insanely nice.

Power flickered but holding steady here. The lightning and thunder were super close so it's right over us. Now it's brightening up bit from the intense heat bright sunny day, it sure got dark!
