Hi

does anyone know of any decent grocery stores/shops where i can buy british foods. I miss heinz beans, chocs and crisps(chips). I'll be moving to charlotte in the next month and hoping it's easy to find british products to save using internet for buying my favourites!

Harris teeter, world market and big lots. I have seen and purchased them there. Oh if you do end up in Pineville there is an incredible Indian/Pakistani grocery store there. Patel Bros, I go there quite often.

Believe it or not Wal-Mart can be a good place to find Cadbury's products including Choc Digestive and Choc Fingers - at better pricing than World Market. There's a S African shop on Independence that has a host of 'British' stuff, too - sausage rolls, variety of frozen pies, Ribena, Lucozade, etc.
Some of the larger Harris Teeters have a dedicated 4ft section for British food where they'll stock a variety of Heinz, Crosse & Blackwell, Coleman's, Tetley, Oxo, Bisto items. The Heinz Baked Beans are stocked in the regular canned beans section...$2.89 for the 13.7 oz can.

Publix also has a large selection of British foods in the international aisle.

Crisps can be a little harder to get, the South African store in Mathews usually has a couple of flavours.

World market has some galaxy products, penquins etc.

Several harris teeters & publix have small british sections.

Have found I can pretty much get most items over the years, anything in particular that you are looking for?

For instance in the winter I get a case of crunchies delivered and sometimes a case of chunky kit kats

If you like to cook, Patel Bros has spices and tons of interesting ingredients. And if you like wet tandoori/curry, they have that as well.

The consignment shop is called Once upon a Time. It's on Hwy 51 on the hospital side.

Look up mommy groups for Pineville, there are several and a great way to meet other people. You can also join a local Little Gym or My Gym or Gymboree when the baby is of age.

The Kit Kats in world market are double the price of the case purchase price, but yes they are the same.

I saw Ribena somewhere. I drank that growing up. I think it was in an asian food store.
