My family will be moving to Charlotte this summer (my husband and me and 3 kids aged 8, 6, and 3). We are hoping to buy in Union County but aren't sure where. We have been thinking about staying over in the Marvin area to try to avoid potential further redistricting, but I'm wondering if we are limiting ourselves unnecessarily. We want top schools though and would want to stay in either Marvin, Weddington, or Cuthbertson. Currently we have looked at homes in Providence Downs, Marvin Creek, and Chimneys of Marvin (among others). We really love the look at Providence Downs but I think most of the homes will be out of our price range. We would like to stay under $700k and the only homes that we saw at that price were either on a main road or didn't have 5 bedrooms (we really want 5 bedrooms). We didn't like Chimneys...lots too small and no trees. Marvin Creek could work if we found the right lot that would back up to some trees.

But then I saw some homes online in Weddington Chase and they really seem to be similar to what we are looking for. I know that Weddington Chase was just redistricted to the Weddington cluster. Anyone live in Weddington Chase? What are the general thoughts about the redistricting for those in the neighborhood? Also, how far is Weddington Chase from shopping, restaurants, etc.?

Thanks for the help!
