Have you spoken with any rental companies here? I'm thinking with a foreclosure on your credit report and no job you may have a hard time finding a rental, particularly if you have only a few school assignments that you find acceptable. Also, there just aren't that many houses for sale (particularly with garages in your price range) and that means a lot of folks are selling at a profit in the neighborhoods you're looking at which means that the home and townhome rental market isn't there as much as I think it might be in Florida. There are currently a lot of apartments being built in Charlotte, but I've heard that right at the moment there is not a lot of inventory.
There are also several nursing schools in Charlotte and so there has been in the last few years a lot of competition for nursing jobs. Maybe some nurses on the forum will chime in.
My last visit out was 2 weeks ago. I did a lot of driving around to get a feel for the area and did talk to a property mgmt company who offered a 6 mo lease. They for the most part reassured me that it would be fine. My home is only negative on report and I am prepared to offer 6mo rent up front if there is an issue (I figured there might be even though my home isn't foreclosed yet, hoping for a short sale) I appreciate your mention on the job. I have a few good options brewing when I'm ready. My friends really pulled through there I did find a great price at Magnolia Park, again a bad school zone though. Other than the 22K/yr private tuition any information on how to enroll in a magnet school, or out of district?. I love the townhome and location.
If you are looking for work down here as an RN there are several large hospital chains with facilities in the Southern part of Charlotte (I won't say South Charlotte, as I know that offends some) that wouldn't require you to work uptown, Pineville, Matthews, Ballantyne all have several facilities from those large chains. There are houses in my neighborhood for rent for less than $1600, with some of the best schools in the county. Maybe search in 28277, is a growing area, generally very safe, with some newer apartments/townhouses within walking distance of many restaurants, shopping, grocery, etc. It's gotten very congested, but may have more of what you are looking for and you don't need to worry about private school in that zip code. Best wishes, safe travels and feel free to DM me if you need more info.
Thanks everyone!! We found a place in Selwyn district!! See y'all in June
