The French Drain is a good idea. The people who installed it should have encapsulated the crawl space as well. If you're not claustrophobic, you can encapsulate your crawl space yourself. There are several videos on You Tube about how to do it.
Get more than one opinion before encapsulating. Normally with a French drain, a simple moisture barrier will do the job of keeping mole infestation away. Putting down a barrier can be done simply if you can crawl around underneath the house, It is not that simple with encapsulation as it has to be adhered to the flooring, etc. Get an couple of expert opinions.
