There are plenty of local restaurants in the Huntersville area.

Any good bakeries to speak of, especially ones that bake their own bread?

There is a Slavokian bakery on Catawba Ave, Cornelius. There are also several Italian and Hispanic bakeries around town that do their own baking. There is also a bakery in Park Road Shopping Center that bakes fresh Cuban bread on Saturday morning or to order.

We rented a house so I ended up cooking or preparing almost every meal and didn't get to eat out much at all in the end. No rest for momma!

We did make it to lunch at Red Rocks in Birkdale when we were there (and the little ice cream & fudge place just nearby) and went to Cafe 100 for breakfast one morning. Other than that my husband took me to a nice restaurant in Birkdale that I forget the name of now one night.

We are relocating in the next year (if everything progresses as it has been!) so I'm planning to work my way through the list in subsequent trips and once we get settled.

Thank you again everyone for all the suggestions!
