Can anyone reccomend a Good Sports Bar or Happy Hour Type Place/Crowd to go to before a Checkers or Bobcats Game? Withing walking distance to the Arena. Good appetizers and drink specials and a lively crowd are what I am looking for.

A previous post mentioned that Lavecchia's Seafood Grille has a $1.95 bar nebu before games....however I am drawing a Blank on what NEBU stands for.

Don't know about NEBU, but I was the one who mentioned Lavecchia's. The $1.95 portions are somewhat small, but if you eat 3 or 4 of them it will fill you up and that's still a good deal for the quality.

Brixx always has beer and drink specials and sometimes food specials. Rock Bottom Brewery is another good place. We usually do Lavecchia's or Brixx because it is only 1 block from the arena and easy from the rail stop at 7th st. If you drive, both establishments will validate your parking in the 7th st garage.

Oh, a lot of people like RiRa's too. There are some good places along the rail in South End too like Tavern on the Tracks and Jillian's
