Hi,

I hope everyone had a very good Christmas. We visited Charlotte during Christmas vacation and we really like the place. We are planning to move by January end.
We are looking for rental houses in Northern Mecklenburg and Northeast/University City area. Cabarrus county area which is near Meck county will be ok too.
We will be looking for the child friendly community (that means lots of kids in the community, a playground or pool in or near the community )with good elementary school. Can anyone help which communities will be good to look for? We are not looking for very big houses. Houses from $900 to max. $1200 or $1300 rent is what we can afford.
Thanks,

I have some friends that live in Huntersville, NC, which is in North Meck. They've lived there for 12 years and like the schools. They have 1 child that goes to a private school, and another that goes to Torrence Creek Elementary. Lots of nice communities with playgrounds everywhere and community pools/play areas. Nice area, near shopping areas (Birkdale Village is awesome!!! but pricey...nice to window shop and get a Starbuck's coffee and people watch) and found a good website for you for houses to rent:

http://www.rentalhouses.com/search_results.php?state=NC&city=Huntersville&sear chnew=1 (broken link)

also check out

www.greatschools.net

gives parent reviews and overall school ratings for your area.

Good luck!
