We're keeping our eyes out for some great deals on New Years day for a new washer and dryer. Any suggestions on where to go around the Charlotte/Gastonia area for scratched and dent washers and dryers? I heard about HH Gregg, maybe?
Gastonia Hardware Co. on Ozark is supposed to have good prices.
We went to Queen City Appliances - to their outlet store off of I-85 - and were disappointed. Their scratch & dent prices were higher or about the same as new stuff at Lowe's (and Lowe's gave us a $250 gift card, too!)
We bought our old washer and dryer at a Sears Outlet store in CA, but the closest one here in 200 miles away down I-85 in Lawrenceville, GA.
We bought a mismatched front-load washer and dryer, neither of which were scratched or dented (just customer returns) for about 20% less than the sale price in the store. If you have the time and a truck (to bring your purchase back), you should be able to get a great deal, but it is a long way to go in this case.

Good to know about this place....need a washer more than a dryer, and my sister lives in Lawrenceville.....maybe next time I visit I fit it in the back of my minivan..............
There is a Sears Outlet here at the Eastland Mall. But they don't price things well there at all.
Sears is currently (until tomorrow) offering 15% OFF of any 2 appliance over $399. If you get 3 appliances you get 20% off. they also have sales on top of those prices right now.
We just bought our new kitchen appliances (arriving Friday) at Sears regular store and with the sales and rebate of 20%, we saved almost 35%. We shopped Lowe's, Home Depot, Queen City and the Outlet and the reguloar Sears was by far the cheapest.
Dawn
PS: I wouldn't recommend QC to anyone. Their prices were the highest and they weren't willing to do anything to come down to make a sale. They told us we would need to go to Lowe's and get confirmation of a price and they would match it only. Good grief, why would I go back there just to match a price????

I went there looking for a washer and dryer and they have a ton of them. It's in the mall across from the rail station off South Exit
