I know the standard rule for USPS is 30 days so I decided to go to the post office to get permission from the supervisor. The lady behind the counter said she would go to the back to ask the supervisor for permission but she said she told her that it was not possible. I really don't want to ask my friends or neighbors cause I don't want to trouble them and then there is the privacy issue. Anyone ever have success in getting the mail held for over 30 days at the post office? Any other options for me? thx

Are you not able to renew for another 30 days online when the first 30 days expire? Again this was from Florida but it should be the same everywhere.

Hi,
I believe in order to renew for another 30 days the accumulated mail from the first 30 day hold will need to be redelivered or picked up in person from the post office. So I don't think that will work for me.

I had this issue and just worked it out with my carrier. He is a good guy and was willing. He is the one who will be doing the forwarding, marking the mail, discarding the 4th class junk and so on. Work with your guy/girl and skip the administrators. And show some gratitude to your carrier when you return.

Just realized your said "Held" nor forwarded. Why hold mail for 45 days? Neighbors can collect and hold?

@momtothree--- thanks

@danburg-- yeah PO box rental is an option but then I would have to get my mail forwarded to it

@johnc48-- most likely I will just ask my neighbors if there are not any other options.

Install a drop thru mail slot in your front door.

Unless you are rural delivery.
