What areas are decent areas to live in? I am a single mother with a 13 yr old looking to relocate to Charlotte NC. I need to know what areas are decent/good enough to look for an apartment? I would like to live somewhere safe, quiet and possibly close to a park or mall.

I live in the Mint Hill area. It's a quiet town, just outside outside Charlotte. We are close to a couple of parks, and only a short drive to several other greenways. It's also just a short drive to the two popular malls in the area. I'll send you a private message.

Maybe Dillworth. its right next to Uptown(downtown Charlotte). it is between the Uptown and SouthPark area(Location of the Southpark mall) if you move to the southern part of Dillworth it shouldn't be that much of a drive to the mall. also there are two Walmarts, Target,Trader Joes and many other markets close to the dillworth area. Any are Directly south of UPtown will basically fit your needs. The SouthPark Area itself is expanding and you can move there, then you could be just a short drive from the mall.

What is your budget. Hopefully you have employment lined up, as getting a job in Charlotte is not as easy as it seems.

I don't plan on moving to a city without a job. I learned my lesson when I moved to Houston without a job, dumb mistake, will never do that again.

His answer was nice, but far from comprehensive Once you have a job location and can give us a budget range folks here can give you more specific advice/answers.
