Elizabeth is my favorite - and it's still walking distance to the business district in Plaza Midwood as well as very close to Uptown. A little quieter than Plaza Midwood.

I don't live in Charlotte but recently visited some friends who built in Dilworth, and honestly I was very impressed with the whole neighborhood. Great atmosphere for families while seemingly being within walking distance of BofA stadium and HQ. It is expensive, but the homes+location IMO would make it worth it if I lived there based on what I could tell, though with most properties seemingly hovering around at least $200/ft or much more in some cases I'm not sure I could quite afford it tbh. Several of the older homes are being or have been torn down and rebuilt with larger nicer homes. It's certainly the type of place that you envision the Charlotte bankers and other high-end corporate professionals living. I know that sounds hokey but just saying it's one of those places.

I would look at southend. If you don't mind carjacking and being VERY close to crime pick noda and plaza midwood. plaza midwood is one of the many gay areas in charlotte. I worked in all these hoods for 15 years. So I know what goes on in them and what they are like.
