Can anyone give some insight on how New Town Elementary school is? We are a young family and thinking about houses in the Shannon Vista subdivision (Waxhaw NC). Any thoughts in general about the houses built there and how is the school? As this community is slightly inside the border of Curthbertson HS lines, is there a chance of the county rezoning this community to Parkwood (7-8 miles away)?
I worked in that community for two years the homes are well built, a work colleague of mine built a home in the community while we he was working there too. I even considered building a home in the community myself. It's a great community and I have a lot of great friends that live there. There was a school redistrict while I was working there and the community stayed designated for Cuthbertson schools.
Union county has seen a lot of growth over the years and it will continue to do so over given the amount of new neighborhoods starting up, there are no guarantees for school assignments and who knows which way the lines will be drawn if and when it happens again.
Thank you for the response but we decided to walk away from this community as the area has had a history of flooding issues. Shannon road was flooded last year twice making the community accessible due to 3 feet water.
Overall it seemed not bad until we found out that Eastwood built right in the middle of a 100 year flood plain. IMO we felt the flooding issue and the only access being Shannon road was not that appealing to buy the home.
