I have lived in Charlotte for 5 years, having relocated from NJ. For about 4 1/2 of those years, I absolutely loved it here. My family and I live in a subdivision in South Charlotte, where the area is beautiful, the schools are great, the crime is low and the people are friendly. Just a great place to be. Combine all that with a growing economy and one really feels like they are in a city headed in the right direction! I know what you're saying; "are you nuts?" Yes, I was, but not anymore. Thanks to the last 6 months in which I discovered this forum and started reading it on a daily basis, I now know Charlotte for what it really is; a crime ridden, disgusting place with no hope. Thank you all for showing me the way. My family and I are packed up and will head back to NJ in about a month. I appreciate all the great advice and information this wonderful forum has given me and all who read it. Best to all of you and good luck to those I will leave behind in this cesspool. You're going to need it. Right gang?
Did I miss something here? Is this just a facetious post to remind those who continually discuss crime that it "aint so bad here after all?"
You are not serious in saying that you have been happy here and now b/c of reading on this forum, you have decided (despite your own personal experience of being satisfied here) that you are going to leave?
I don't know whether I should be laughing at your note - b/c it is tongue-in-cheek. . . or if I should be scratching my head in perplexity at how you would decide to leave a place after reading some posts about crime, even tho you personally have not experienced any crime while living here.
Surely you jest? (surely???)

Reason: left out word
Funny - perhaps your sarcasm is lost on the more earnest among us, but I am glad to see posts like this. I am considering a move from NJ and I've been a little put off by the crime stats. Thanks for weighing in. Statistically, I live in Mayberry (Livingston, NJ) but numbers do lie. I'm glad to hear from people like you that Charlotte is not the crime-ridden city with inferior public schools that some statistics would imply.
HA HA HA. As NewBeginnings said . . . cooler minds prevailed . . . and once again, that was our own Loves, LOL!!!! Thank you, Loves!!!! Two snaps and a high five!!!

I may be a little too busy to post a lot right now, but I do try to keep up with my reading
I DID like the first part of his post:

I decided to delete my original posting and let the OP's comment just roll off my back. Wow! Amazing how negative people can be. What can possibly be accomplished by posting such garbage, and why am I so offended?

Reason: knee-jerk reaction that wasn't necessary

Come on down, Jhnhth: Have met so many delightful people from NJ who are loving it here. No, it isn't Mayberry, but there are many areas that are darn close (caring neighbors, great place for kids). We are not wearing bullet proof vests here . . . even tho we do lock our cars.
