Thx. I'm not a big fan of driving in lots of traffic, esp not knowing the area at all. I don't speed and I'm not aggressive. I pray I can fit in when we move next year.
You can get away without hitting the worst of the traffic on Independence if you do it right. From Mint Hill, your major East/West will be Rt 51 and the turn on/off from 51 to/from Independence has longer acceleration lanes. And many of the larger shopping centers will have a light in/out of. Honestly, most of what you'll need is off 51 (Lowes, Best Buy, Target, Supermarket, Restaurants, Dicks, Old Navy, etc). So you can get away without using Independence much unless you need specific stores/restaurants &/or to go Uptown.
