Hey everyone, I am new to citydata, and if there is a thread like this already I apologize.

I am 26 yo young professional and looking for a neighborhood that has a good nightlife/ bar and social scene. I am also single and gay would like a gay friendly place to live where I could date openly.

Been researching Charlotte, and found that uptown seems like the best fit. Is that a correct conclusion? Is uptown the best option for what I am looking for or are there other places just as good/ better?

Cost of living is also no real concern I am willing to make it work for the right location in Charlotte, preferably want a studio or single apartment to rent.

thanks

South End, Noda, Plaza Midwood are also worth checking out. Uptown is becoming pretty vibrant though as well.

What CLT4 said. I think SouthEnd seems the most popular overall for young professionals but NoDa and Plaza Midwood may be more gay-friendly

I concur with NoDa or Plaza Midwood for gay friendly areas.

Towns in northern Mecklenburg seem to be very popular with gays. I know several gays and they are very active and on the scene everywhere. There is also a Lake Norman Gay organization for which I don't know the exact name but they do have meets. I suppose that "gay-friendly" means highly gay populated? In any case, everyone is friendly to anyone. If not, it has nothing to do with gayness, etc. Don't discard Cornelius or Davidson. You may love either town.

Most urban areas of Charlotte are gay friendly.

SouthEnd, Plaza Midwood, NoDa for sure. Possibly throw in Elizabeth, Wesley Heights, and other neighborhoods near center city.
