Technically?

It is quite a ways from Downtown/Uptown. I know it has a Charlotte zipcode, but you could not be any further out. Pineville is closer. I do see your point though and yes Ballantyne is a nice trendy area and Yes the Hotel is Nice.

Just was not sure it he OP wanted to be IN Charlotte or IN the city limits or if it even matters. From my experience, when people mention going to a location to stay for an event, they typically will want to stay in the city. Ballantyne is still a suburb like it or not. 16 miles/30+ minutes outside of the city center..... Hunersville, Concord Mills, and many other placces without Charlotte addresses are closer. Just saying.

I'm Not saying your hotel recommendation is a bad one.

I didn't technically recommend the Ballantyne but I'd believe that it is nice for Christmas.

OP said Asheville was too far, but that's 2+ hours. 2+ hours is a lot different than 30 minutes. We also don't know where OP lives so maybe Ballantyne is actually closer to OP than uptown.
