IF the DMV in the Charlotte area needs improvement (most seem to think so), what can be done?? Do we put pressure/concerns on the head person in charge?? Is it an electable position??

I moved here from Tampa area and we had SLOW DMV untill we got a progressive, action oriented director. He revamped the offices and it improved SO MUCH !! Any county offices that served the public were updated this way, so when you went for a license, exam, pay taxes, etc, it was a very pro consumer event. Yes, I know, telling my new home state "how we did it back home" is kind of pushy, but it was such a similar situation and it was FIXED where I used to live. Have only been here about 6 months so I'm not sure the gov't structure behind the offices, but surely we can do something. THANKS

What is the best time to go to the DMV for Driver's License? I'm near Plaza Midwood and I've been to the DMW twice on a Saturday and the lines are terribly long that I cannot wait.

I am thinking a weekday at 7am maybe my best chance. Any advice any of you can provide?

Just checked out the Huntersville DMV while I was visiting the area to compare it. I took this picture on Monday December 10 2018 at 11am.

I was told it was about 1 hour wait for a license, 20 minutes for plates, registration. No wait with appointment made online.

I've been to Mount Holly and to Charlotte, and the Huntersville location is far better than both of those locations.
