Hello,

I am traveling to Charlotte today and would like for anyone to share favorite mom and pop restaurants. I will soon be in for lunch. Also, any others for dinner.

Thank you!

I'm assuming "mom and pop" means locally owned, not chains.

Price's Chicken Coop (takeout only)
Green's Lunch
Brooks Sandwich Shop
Krazy Fish
The King's Kitchen
Good Food on Montford
Halcyon
South 21 Drive-in
Bar-B-Q King
Pinky's Westside Grill
Open Kitchen
Cabo Fish Taco

Depending on what you're looking for, Krazy Fish, The King's Kitchen, Good Food on Montford, Halcyon, Pinkys and Open Kitchen are all open for dinner. King's Kitchen, Halcyon and Good Food aren't dives. (and I love dives!)

Oh!!! Last question, I promise. Is there a really good non-chain pizza place either in Charlotte or Concord that you know of??

If you like Neapolitan style, Inizio is great: Inizio Pizza Napoletana | Dedicated to the art and craft of true Neapolitan-style pizza

I don't know much about Concord. I have heard good things about Alino, although I think its a small (local?) chain. And Rosario's.

Concord is a big area. If you are near the concord mills area looking for pizza I would say Alino’s in the mall would be a good locally owned option.

Du Amici’s might be a better option than Rosario’s now a days. Rosario’s has had some turn over and pretty much everyone I know that goes there has noticed it’s not as good as it used to be. It’s still not bad but used to be better.

Local chain but I’d say Hawthorne’s. There’s one in Harrisburg or Highland Creek area.
