i usually take my car to a privately owned shop, but i need something quick and convenient this time. does anyone know of a decent place with quality service in this area (10 minutes from uptown)?

Woodie's at Tryon and 9th is decent, but their prices are typically higher just because they are uptown.

I've taken my car to Gerrard Tire at 6th and Graham for basic maintenance tasks with good results.

Gerard's Tire has always been good to me. I also like the fact that I can drop the car off, walk to work and pick it up on the way home.
