When we travel to Europe there are what is known as internet cafes.
They charge x per hour, sell sodas, snacks.
I will be looking for access to internet for about 10 hours a day in the coming months. The local library allows 1-2 hours a day but that's it. Anyone aware of computer access businesses or hot spots for multi hour use? Thanks.
Not sure, but depending on how much you'd spend for those hours, it may be cheaper to buy your own laptop and then use the library's free wifi all day.
I am not familiar with the options now - but it seemed like a decade ago cyber cafes were evolving more towards being "game rooms" and very noisy places to simply surf the net. Most people under 55 nowadays have a smartphone so I would think that the business model must be changing, if it even still is justifiable.
Google Maps and Yelp claim that there are some places. Check the reviews, see if any of them are open now and how the environment is described.
Europe was long ago and partially funded by relatives. We'll be without Comporium for a few months and only need an intermittent use source.
All got ya. There's always the option of using your phone for a hot spot or a coffee cafe. I don't think internet cafes are really a thing here or even in the US.

I thought of using the phone as a hot spot and tethering a laptop to it. But, ten hours per day might run the phone bill up too high.
I really think you should get an Internet account where you live. I can't see sitting in Starbucks for 10 hours a day.
There used to be an Internet cafe at the corner of Carowinds Blvd and South Tryon Street. But that was about 5-6 years back. I imagine Covid forced them out of business.
Only option is likely one of the local libraries. The time limit only applies if they're busy and most of them are pretty empty these days due to Covid. Amelie's in NoDa was a good spot for that but it's quite a drive from Pineville and I'm not sure what the situation is over there with covid either.
