I'm looking for two things:

Internet cafes - the kind that have computers available, preferably not too expensive. And, no, I don't mean libraries.

Cafes - an independent non-chain kind, pleasant and quiet.

Preferably in central Scottsdale area.

Any suggestions?

I can't think of any cafes in the US that have computers for use any more.

Altitude is an independent coffee shop in central Scottsdale. Nice, peaceful setting.

Oh, internet cafes definitely exist in the U.S. I'm just not sure if there are any in central Scottsdale.

Thanks, I'll look up Altitude.

After googling 'internet cafe scottsdale' it appears there are a few. Hint hint.

There really aren't any though. Now that everyone has a smart phone and so many have laptops and iPads, they seem irrelevant and a poor business model, hence their sparsity.

Looks like you're right. A lot places are using the tag 'internet cafe' on yelp...despite only have wifi.

Well, the last time I tried that, I was pleasantly surprised to see one listed right near me, so I walked over there. The shopkeeper gave me a blank look. I said they were listed as an internet café, and the person said, I don't know anything about that.

I looked them up. They close at 6pm. Does anyone else think that's strange?

A few I’ve been to that may fit the bill for you- Echo Coffee, Sip, Coffee Plantation.

It’s in an affluent residential area, so no. They’re busy in the morning and for afternoon coffee breaks. Not many people drink coffee later than that.
