OK - Back from the trip. Had a great time. Weather was perfect.

Tanners Creek, Carrington Ridge, Centenniel were all nice. Centennial seemed easier to get to, but also pricier.

Also went to Falcon Ridge, right on the SC border. Very nice looking community and 30K cheaper then Huntersville.

I was researching online and found Oakmont/Barber Builders. I saw a few houses on MLS and the prices look almost too low. Is there something I should know about these guys?

Thanks

Most of the neighborhoods Barber builders are in seem to turn for the worse.

They seem to make sound homes it is the "creative" financing that does it IMO.

I know the first part of neck road is not to desirable but I believe they are trying to clean it up. You Realtor should be able to guide you.

They do have the Scottish games down there once a year so beware of traffic for that day.

This is my old stomping grounds so if you need and specifics let me know.

Thanks,

I knew there had to be a reason for the 40K price difference from other communities. Thanks

Your right Falcon Ridge is just about as close as you can get to SC (right on the otherside and you'd be in Fort Mill, SC)

A realtor is a necessity since the salespeople in the model are working for the interest of the builder not yours. So a seasoned eye can guide you to get the most bang for your buck. Also research as much as posible on your own. Google is a homebuyers best friend. That way you can research a particular builder's reputation.

Ahhh... but going to Trade from Fort Mill is MUCH, MUCH better! I can be there in 20 mins.
