In April the Solid Waste Services department publicly announced that Yard Waste may not be on schedule due to labor shortages (like everything else in America). They are prioritizing keeping regular trash and recycling operating on schedule.

They recently held open interviews for 20 vacant positions for yard waste and filled 17 positions. The drivers are in training and the department is hoping to be back to normal operations in June.
An additional open interview round was held on Tuesday to fill additional Solid Waste vacancies. You have to have a Class A or B CDL. The salary is $20.40 / hour. Competition is fierce and the city is likely paying too little... unemployment is 3.7% in Meck and there are 5,854 job openings in the metro area for Class A or Class B CDL drivers. Many CDL positions are offering $5,000+ sign on bonuses and starting pay at $65,000+.
