I'm interested in some undeveloped property in Shelby and trying to anticipate how long it will take to complete projects.

For example I already learned a perc test for a septic permit will take 8 weeks (apparently because of covid?).

If there is high demand that would mean they aren't very motivated to get on a job.

Did you ever think they might be so busy that it could take 8 weeks before they could get to your request? Maybe try and imagine a world that doesn't run on your time, no offense of course.

Yeah. In my experience towns like Shelby have few motivated contractors and sometimes they just don't want to work. Maybe I should do some of the other work myself than rely on them.

Maybe you should instead of posting your grievances online.

Maybe you should start taking some miralax? Do you have anything useful to add? This forum is dead to be one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas.

In our county a perc test is a government function and strictly first come first serve. It's always been a bit of a wait, regardless of Covid or not.

Maybe it is just "red tape." Like other companies, Brandon has depleted the workforce and has caused slowdowns in many areas of work. Unless you just woke up, you should know that permits for anything environmental takes a long time. Being undeveloped property, the EPA will probably have to review or inspect as well.

We are in the midst of a sinking of America in all majorly populated cities and towns. In Charlotte, everything used to be so easy with appointments, and the resolution of problems both mechanical and social.
The problem is a huge shortage of qualified employees, a general shortage due to the surge in salaries, and a demotivation of workers due to stimulus checks and other absolutely idiotic government screw ups. It seems to be impossible to get anything done the first time around, etc. Delivery services suck, specialists in many venues are idiots, and getting permits or certifications are taking extended time due to the lack of priority and care. This is happening everywhere. Things aren't like they used to be these last couple of years and it is getting worse. We are witnessing the falling of the great empire. Hope it starts changing soon.

Wow! I sense an angry person from where it snows that feels that he should be given priority treatment . Places like Shelby? Things are screwed up everywhere for the past year and a half everywhere and with a cessation on acquiring our own natural resources to lower costs and the insane insistence on bring in thousands of illegals, jobs will be filled by those that will accept lower salaries and things will continue to digress. When I moved to the area, I was amazed that I could make an appointment with the gas company, contractors, or anyone and get an appointment almost immediately and no issues. My town is smaller than Shelby. Things are not the same with the stupid government hand-outs and other motivators that are encouraging and driving 3rd world status here in this country.
