A little area help please (Charlotte, Star: hotels, safe area, restaurants)

Hello, can any one please advise hotel(s)and a couple nice restaurants in a safe area of town

Near the Charlotte Mecklenburg police academy

I see an Embassy Suites one says up town the other not same with a couple other hotels Marriott Hilton etc….

Which would be the closest and best area

Also is this anywhere near the NASCAR museum or convention center

The police academy is down off Shopton Rd southwest of uptown. If you’re specifically wanting an Embassy Suites I’d recommend the one at Ayrsley. It’s only a couple miles from the Police Academy and is a decent area, offers plenty of restaurants and some bars and a Starbucks in the immediate vicinity. Unfortunately, the NASCAR HOF and convention center are nowhere near that area as they’re in uptown proper which is about an 8 mile drive from the police academy.

Not necessarily looking for Embassy Suites just something in a safe area and fairly close to the academy, and some decent restaurants in the area
