Is it me or is it really hard to meet people in charlotte? I live with my fiance and we both work a lot so its hard enough to just get out there and meet people. we're in our early 20's and dont have any kids but it seems like anyone close to our age has a clique and they dont wanna let anyone in.

You said the key word. Charlotte tends to be quite a cliquish city.
it's not easy, but you'll have friends in time. i've lived here 3 years. i have lots of acquaintances and maybe 3 really good friends that i've made. it's not JUST moving to a new place and not JUST about Charlotte being cliquish. it's also part of adulthood. it's harder to make friends when you get a little older. where did you move from?

Where r u from? If you're a transplant, many local places cater to people from Boston, NYC, Buffalo, Pittsburg, etc
another good suggestion ... if you went to a larger university, find out if they do Alumni activities. My Alumni group gets together regularly for happy hours.
I agree join a church and arrive 20 minutes early and stay 20 minutes after the service and just say hello to whoever you will cliick with some more people that way.
Alot of churches will be having vacation bible school soon so now is a great time to join and bond.
Attend all charity functions for that church and my favorite hang out and mingle time is at Covered Dish Suppers.
I didnt move. I've lived here my whole life but after I got out of high school it everyone moved away or things just didn't work out due to school/work. I work full time and am planning on going to school in the fall and hoping to meet new people. Even the people I am friends with moved away and even though its not that far gas prices are making it hard to hang out and stuff.
I can't believe that the young men of North Charlotte wouldn't want to hang-out with someone who makes such generalizations.
