Any good carpet cleaner out there that compares to Stanley Steamer? I usually use them as they seem to get the stains/smells out well and they don't use any harsh chemicals that smell up the house. Plus they are professional and in and out quick! But wondered if there was someone a bit cheaper as they can be expensive.

I haven't used Stanley Steamer before so not sure how it compares but I did use Chem-Dry and thought they did a good job and the carpets don't get real wet either. Dried quickly, looks great.

There is a company called Carpet Dyenamics. I run an apartment community and use their services regularly and I am very happy with the work that they do.

Just wondering why you don't just buy your own carpet cleaner. We purchased one at Lowes a few years back and couldn't be happier. I don't even use chemicals, I use white soap or a few dabs of antibacterial gel and the carpets look great afterwards. Just a thought you might want to consider for about the same cost.

+1 for chem-dry. they did a good job at the place i rented last year. when i went to look at the place before i signed the lease the floor was a disaster. when we moved in it was almost new looking.

An at home machine can't do the same kind of cleaning that a service can. I've even rented machine's before and they just don't have the same power and process as the services.

At home machines can actually do more damage to your carpet over time than having a professional with a truck mounted system perform the service.
