I always see that there are plenty of people from the northeast or southeast that have moved to Charlotte. What about the midwest? I'm from Mayfield, OH and I'm planning to move to Charlotte within 9 to 12 months. I'm wondering if there are any fellow Ohioans that have already made the move and what have been some of your experiences(differences or similarities)?. Are you glad you made the move?

I have several good friends and co-workers from OHIO, Cleveland, Columbus, Cinci. Some OSU people, Bowling Green, OU, etc. I am originally from the midwest (Chicago), SO I can tell you weather wise its not much difference, other than the winters are not so extreme. It's also a growing area versus a dying (sorry to say) area like Clev. I think they have lost 10% of their people in the last decade?

They all seem to like it here, though, anything in particular you are looking for?

I run into more former Buckeyes and Hoosiers here than anyone else. There are lots of transplants from the midwest.

I used to live in Macedonia. The only thing I noticed when I first moved here was that there were a lot of Steelers fans.

Oh great I wasn't planning on running into any Steelers fans!! I'm a huge Browns fan!! How do you follow your favorite teams now that you're living in Charlotte?
