Default try the Kidney Foundation!

Call the Kidney Foundation - they usually call me every few months to see if I have any 'household' items. I leave the items on my porch and they pick it up!

Kidney foundation just picked up my stuff last week, LOL. (Charlotteborn - looks like we both donate our goodies to them!)

I have had Salvation Army pick up the larger items (furniture).

Salvation army picked our furniture and then gave us a reciept for tax purposes on what we estimated the value to be.
Also I had a lot of winter coats when I moved for the North and they took all of those as well with another tax reciept in return.
Because you hear of so many scams these days It's unfortunate you have to research charity's.

We called the Salvation Army for pick up too. They came just when they said they would, and the guys were so nice.
