depends on traffic time of day etc. Look at about 15 mins on average from Downtown Huntersville.

A gas water heater is also almost always cheaper to run and will recover faster - that is, the water will hot again much faster than in an electirc water heater.

I don't know about gas compared to oil but electric is definitely cheaper here than gas. My A/C bill this past month was $192 but my gas bill in the winter was over $400! OUCH!!

Electricity rates are still somewhat regulated, so there will be less fluctuation in an electricity bill. Gas is not regulated, so expect to see heating gas prices continue to rise right along with motor fuels.

We paid roughly 30% more when we had gas hot water and heat compared to our new house which is all electric. Previous house was in Huntersville, 2200 sq. ft., built in 2002; current house is in Mooresville, 3100 sq. ft., built in 2007.

Everyone always says gas is cheaper and more efficient, but we are pretty darn happy with the cost and comfort of our electric heat pump/AC and water heater.

We had Piedmont Natural Gas and Electricities in Huntersville and we have Duke Energy in Mooresville.
