Any cheers or jeers for this neighborhood or anything on par in the Davidson/N. Meck area (~$600k)? Job will be a few exits N. of Davidson. River Run looks nice after driving through it and looking at a few homes online. I did notice a waiting list for their non-golf social club membership. Not looking to get too far away from 77 as access to Charlotte is a concern.

Also, if not at the neighborhood pool, any reco's on how to meet new folks in the area? I heard the Y's are big in Charlotte, and wondering if Davidson has anything comparable. We are 30 with a 1yr old daughter moving from Chicago. Yes, I realize Davidson is completely opposite from big-city living

Any help or insight is greatly appreciated.

Have co-workers in River Run in Davidson and they love it. Nice neighborhhood and the little downtown area of Davidson is quaint & beautiful. You might gain weight if you like Ben & Jerry's...it is right in the heart of the village. Davidson is a very desirable place to live. Also check out "The Peninsula" in Cornelius too!

GOOD LUCK!

River Run is a beautiful subdivision. Have kept my eye on it since its inception in the early 90s . . . Davidson is a great place to live. Definitely check it out. Nice amenities, too . . .

There is a Y in Davidson. It sits right on the border of Davidson/Cornelius. River Run is nice but for ~600K you prob will be on the lower end of housing. With that price range Iwould searc haround as nmentioned the Pennisula,Birkdale,Northstone etc etc there maybe a few other neighborhoods that would suite you better.

We absolutely love River Run (and Davidson)!!! The people are very friendly to newcomers. It's ideal for families, too. My understanding is there are still some openings in the non-golf memberships at the country club. It's been easy to make friends because River Run and Davidson have such a great sense of community.

When you look in River Run for houses, look at resales NOT new homes. The developer is incredibly cheap. The developer's idea of landscaping common areas is to throw grass seed on rocky red clay and then mow the resultant weeds. With resales you have some assurances that the lots are properly drained. All of the common areas taken over by the Property Owners Association are nice. The developer is starting phase V and I highly recommend avoiding it. The developer has a history of not providing proper drainage for lots. People selling their homes would have already fixed any drainage problems.

If you do decide to look at new construction in the other phases, be sure to get the builder to fix all drainage and landscaping issues before closing.

Hope this is helpful.
