We both currently work in nyc and my job is reloacting to charlotte. They made me an offer i cant refuse so shes quitting work and we want to start a family in a nice middle class or upper middle class suburb of charlotte. Good schools a plus. Can anyone help!!!!!!! Thanks
There are some solid choices, but it will depend on price and location. Where will you be working(ie how long of a commute can you live with) and what amenities are a must? I haved lived in Matthews for 8 years and am involved in local governance. Being a native of a large cities suburbs(Chicago), my young family and I are very happy with the suburban feel and town connectedness in Matthews. We can walk to the farmers market, movies in the park, etc.
Charlotte has a large land mass and you will discover that it is not a huge collection of suburbs like other metropolis'. The suburbs that are incorporated that you might research include Huntersville, Matthews, Harrisburg, Kannapolis, Concord, Cornelius, Davidson, Weddington and Waxhaw...just to name a few "towns". Other area's to look into include Ballantyne and Southpark. Do your homework on schools and find a good Realtor.
Check out Wesley Heights. Historic District with great views of Charlotte, and new construction that is not outrageously priced. The new Charlotte School of Law just moved there, so I expect the neighborhood to boom, especially as gas prices go up.
