Driving down Morrison this evening a little after 4:30 today, and got up to the cross street of Cameron Valley. Then I noticed there were a bunch of cops blocking the intersection on foot with cruisers nearby. There was nothing going on that I could see, but it was a little eerie. As my paranoid mind started working, I was thinking standoff or something. But then I saw a black sedan coming slowly up Cameron Valley and with it an SUV with a huge, complicated mechanized camera mounted on it. They were clearly filming the car, but I couldn't figure out what for. Movie? Local ad? Anybody have the scoop?

Somebody was definitely filming something in Charlotte this weekend. Yesterday there were police cars with lights flashing slowing traffic on 3rd street in Uptown. As I got closer I saw a tall crane looking thing with a camera on it filming "something".

OK, so maybe it was for a movie. Very interesting. Any idea what movie? Good thing they didn't shut down the road for too long...my pizza would've gotten cold.

Maybe they are going to do an extreme makeover for one the "poor" folks in Foxcroft? Some of those shabby 10,000sf houses are looking pretty run down!

Maybe they are shooting background before the whole crew actually arrives?

I think the cops in uptown were controlling the pathway for the 24 hours of booty.

24 Hours of Booty:

EDIT: Maybenot... I thought they raced uptown for part of the loop but I just found a map and apparently they didn't.

I've never seen Extreme Home Makeover, but I may have to watch the Charlotte one, just to see if that car shot was in it. Hopefully it'll solve the mystery.
The Foxcroft line from a previous poster...laughed out loud on that one. Thanks for the boost to my day!
