Homesick (Asheville, Mooresville: living in, move to, friendly)

I currently live in Georgia-south of Atlanta. I'm originaly from Mooresville, NC. My husband and I want to move to NC. I'm homesick for the small town life but I know from visiting every year that Mooresville is not what it use to be.
I will have a degree/certification in early childhood and plan to teach, my hubby is an experienced tool/die maker. We have a 7yr old daughter. We are late forties couple.We like to dream about living in Asheville but unsure. Desparate for the friendly small town atomoshere. Any good recommendations?

I moved to Asheville from South Georgia a few months ago and love it!! I could not see myself living in South Metro Atlanta, especially now that I've lived here... so I'm biased, but I say Asheville Friendly people, not a huge city, but still has a bigger city feel to it, with everything you would need plus mountains

Asheville is a very nice area. Just be sure you have a job lined up first. Good luck!
